Winner of the BDS 2006 National Student Design Competition - the annual showcase event 'open' to all students currently completing a BDS course, and which this year attracted submissions said by Society chairman Bernard Brandham, FBDS, FIBD&ID, AIPD, Hon.CADA to be "of outstanding quality" - was Ashley Corness, of the Hugh Baird College, Liverpool. The 'response' by Miss Corness to providing a complete promotional package themed for a jazz-in-the-park concert event won her for personal retention the BDS 'Gold Medal' together with three industry-donated awards - the Adel Rootstein Trophy, the SDEA Trophy, and the Credo Trophy, presented by the Credo Business Group (secretaries to the Society). |
Hugh Baird College, as the winning student's college, will again 'put their name' on the annually-awarded Brandham Shield. Second-placed inthe competition, and winner of the BDS 'Silver Medal', was Laura Kelly, also a Hugh Baird student, and Eleanor Fahy, a student of last year's all-conquering winning college, West Herts College, Watford, was placed third to take the BDS 'Bronze Medal'. All of the medal-winning students, together with those whose entries were Highly Commended or Commended, are presented with a BDS Certificate of Achievement. The full list of winners is as below: |

15th February by Executive Council members Cliff Messiter, Hon. FBDS, and Michael Waller, FBDS, with Mr. Brandham presiding in a non-voting capacity. | ||||
